★ Type of Mountains
Mountains can be classified into four types.
• Fold Mountains
• Block Mountains
• Volcanic Mountains
• Residual Mountains
★ Fold Mountains
They are formed by a Collision between the tectonic plates that cause extreme pressure leading to folding and lifting up of a large area. When the horizontal layers of sediment deposited on the seabed are subjected to the force of compression from both the sides, they are squeezed, folded and get lifted up this mountain are fold mountains.

The unfold is called anti clinic and the downfall is called the sycling. There are some very high mountains with sharp peak and step slopes.these religions are prone to earthquakes and volcanic eruption because the earth crust here is very understable such mountain are called young fold mountains.
The Himalayas of India the and there's of South America the Alps of European and the rockies of North America belong to this group. When this mountain range get lover and smooth on the top of a long period of time, they are called old fold mountains this happens due to the force of nature like wind and water walking on them with no more movement from within the earth. ★ Block Mountains
Block mountains are created when large areas are broken up into several blogs due to the force of compressors.

★ Residual Mountains

The soft Rock get worn away more than the Hard rocks. They remain standing as highlands. Such Mountains are called residual or erosional mountains. Sierra Navada in Spain and Highlands of Scotland are residential Mountains.
